- By entering the Competition each Entrant agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
- The Organiser of the awards, including the concert, is the Folk Federation of Tasmania Inc. (FFT).
- The entrant is the composer of each piece of work (song or tune). If they are a co-composer, they must have obtained written permission from other co-composers to enter the piece into the awards competition.
- Each songs or tunes entered into the awards competition must be composed by a resident of Tasmania and must not have been entered in any other competition. It should be suitable for performance at the live concert. A composer may select a performer of their choice.
- Copyright: Entrants need to ensure that the work is original and composed by them; that they have copyright over the work. Artists retain this copyright. No copyrights in any piece entered will be assigned to the FFT by virtue of entering this Competition.
- Moral rights: The FFT will attribute the name of the author of the song or tune in any public performance of the piece.
- The FFT may allow the playing of entries or recordings of the awards concert on radio to publicise the awards. Artists will be attributed if that is the case. If an entrant does not wish to have their piece used in this way, they may inform the FFT and the FFT will then not make such use of the piece.
- It is the Entrant’s responsibility to ensure that each recording submitted is complete and playable. The Organiser is not responsible for late, lost, damaged, misdirected, postage due, stolen, or misappropriated entries. Entry materials (entry forms and recordings) submitted will not be returned to the Entrant and will become the property of the FFT. Recordings submitted may only be used the Organiser for promotional purposes in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.
- Entrants/performers bear all costs of transport and accommodation if they travel to the awards concert. If the entrant/performer indicates this to the FFT, the FFT may be able to find billets for those travelling from further away in the state.
- The award decisions will be made before the night of the concert but not announced until during the concert. A People’s Choice award will be decided on the night.
- Entries will be judged on the submitted recording only.
- Judges’ decisions will be final and no discussion or correspondence will be entered into.
