The Folk Federation’s member magazine, Drumbeat, is published four times per year, in February, May, August and November. The deadline for contributions is 15th of the month before publication.
So, please send in your contributions (articles, reviews, event announcements, photos, tunes, opinions, questions etc.), to news@folktas.org. Please include ‘Drumbeat‘ in the subject line so that our editor, can easily find the item amongst many emails 🙂
If you’d like to receive Drumbeat, please join the Folk Federation ($25 per year, or $30 per household). See http://folktas.org/join/join-the-fft/ for bank account details, or pay a committee member or at an FFT event. You may receive your Drumbeats on paper or by email, as you wish.
The editor and the FFT committee are keen to have items in Drumbeat about various aspects of folk life. We can only print what we receive, so if you think you’d like to see something in Drumbeat, how about writing it? You don’t have to be a journalist or a writer, just someone with something to say or show which might be of interest to Folk Federation members. There is so much going on in the folk scene in Tasmania – music, dancing, concerts, sessions, festivals, poetry, song and tune writing, folk arts and crafts and much, much more. Have you been to something you’ve liked? Send us a photo or a few paragraphs about it! Are you interested in a particular type of song, instrument, music, dancing, woodwork, costume, poetry or some other aspect of folk life? Write us something about it!
Remember, the deadline is 15th of January, April, July and October, and we’d love to receive your article!
