Song and Tune Writing Awards

Reasons to enter:

Cash prizes – A nice recognition of your input if you win. Total prizes of $1000.
Recognition – If you are on the pathway to a flying successful career it can’t hurt to have a prize to gloat about.
A chance to perform – All entries are submitted to the judges and all entries have the chance to perform at the annual FFT Song and Tune Awards Concert as part of the Kunanyi Folk Club at Fern Tree Tavern on Saturday 1st November.
But most of all – It’s a chance to share your ideas and creativity with your mates at the concert and share with the broader folk community.

The 2025 award competition will open in mid-2025. Entries are to be submitted by Monday, 30th September.

These awards are made to encourage creative music writing in Tasmania.
An independent panel of judges will announce the awards at the Kunanyi Folk Club concert at the Fern Tree Tavern on Saturday, 1st November.
The concert will feature as many entrants as possible. The judge’s decisions will be made before the night but not announced until during the concert. A People’s Choice award will be decided on the night.
